On Easter Saturday we headed into to Wellington to do a spot of Max Birthday shopping. Trips to Wellington always seem to end up involving some kind of playpark experience...Saturday was no exception.
In the past Max has stayed away from 'tube' slides, he favours the more traditional, open style. I think the tube issue was my fault - I took him down the Porirua pool water slide soon after we arrived in NZ and I think it was a bit too early. Anyway, that all changed on Saturday when Max decided that it was time to 'do' the tunnel slide. Once he started, we couldn't stop him. Of course that now opens up the opportunity for bigger, better slides!
Given that Max was obviously in the mood for adventure, we decided that it was a great opportunity to take him to Ferg's Kayaks and see what he thought about the climbing wall. We have been in Fergs several times; looking at Kayaks as you do and Max had always asked about doing climbing.
The staff were brilliant - the youngest they have previously had climbing was about 3 and a half so they were a little wary, but let Max have a go on the wall before we committed to paying the hire fee. There was no stopping Max so we just went for it. It was great fun...
